A BETTEr BRAND OF BASEBALL

Great coaches empower athletes, instilling confidence through preparation and determination.

The days my younger brothers Michael (2009 13th Round, Detroit Tigers) and Daniel (2013 9th Round, Kansas City Royals) were drafted in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft are two of the most memorable days of my life. Playing professional baseball was a dream we all shared growing up in San Antonio and later Sugar Land. Both of those days gave our family the opportunity to reflect on everything leading up to that moment, including long-toss in the street, daily batting practice during the summers, nightly tee work in the garage, not to mention the countless summers spent away from the family. Their journey to professional baseball was the culmination of many years of relentless work and personal sacrifice. As their brother, I reveled in the joy of watching my best friends achieve their lifelong dream.

For as long as I can remember baseball has been a part of my identity. Training with my brothers in the beginnings of their collegiate careers sparked within me an intense interest in player development. I admired the sense of purpose with which they operated and witnessed from up-close a level of personal commitment that truly excited me. Since 2010 I have dedicated time to helping young athletes throughout the San Antonio area improve their hitting ability.

While working with young athletes, I strive to become the coach I always wanted: highly knowledgeable, completely invested, demanding-when-necessary and always supportive.

I believe great coaches empower athletes, instilling confidence through preparation and determination; great coaches help players manage their emotions during periods of frustration; great coaches establish trust through supportive relationships; and, most importantly, great coaches always challenge their athletes to become better.
